Year in Review Meme - 2008

I've seen this is several places. May as well play along.

1. Where did you begin 2008?
At home, same as usual, and I officially really started my new job (hard to believe it's been a year already).

2. What was your status by Valentines Day?
Sick!

3. Were you in school anytime this year?
Unless daycare counts, no.

4. Did you have to go to the hospital?
Um, I don't think so, no. Wow, that's so nice! We've been there rather too often in recent years.

5. Did you have any encounters with the police?
Yes, on Christmas Eve! LOL Other than that, I don't think so.

6. Where did you go on vacation?
Disney, as usual. We really will go somewhere else one of these years, I promise(just not in 2009; that Disney trip is already bought and paid for).

7. What did you purchase that was over $100?
Do I really have to answer that? If travel counts, then Disney no expiration tickets (that will last us several years) and our Disney 2009 trip package (paid in full before the end of the year to get a special rate). This was also technology upgrade year for us, something we seem to do every 4-5 years: two new laptops (to replace the 4+ year old crashing desktop and the cranky laptop), a Blu-ray player in the form of a PS3, and a new plasma television (for which the HDMI cables were nearly $100 each, but not quite). It's good to have money in a sorry economy!

8. Did you know anybody who got married?
Cyndi and Matt! I think that's it, really.

9. Did you know anybody who passed away?
My great aunt.

10. Did you move anywhere?
No.

11. What sporting events did you attend?
Atlanta Braves spring training game.

12. What concerts/shows did you go to?
LOL! You're kidding, right?

13. Describe your birthday.
DH gave me a beautiful necklace (more of a combo birthday/10th anniversary gift) and took me to eat Japanese. I'm sure there were also cards.

14. What is the ONE thing you thought you would not do, but did, in 2008?
Buy a new TV. Thought that was going to wait until we moved.

15. What have been your favorite moments?
The hilarious conversations with my son. I love seeing the world through his eyes.

16. Any new additions to your family?
Not our immediate family, no. BIL and SIL decided to make me an aunt, though!

17. What was your best month?
Difficult to say. Either November or December, I think.

18. Who has been your best drinking buddy?
I don't drink.

19. Made new friends?
I'd like to think so, and I got re-aquainted with several old ones via Facebook!

20. Favorite Night out?
The entire day and night that DH and I spent at the movie theater for our anniversary. It was great!

21. Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
It would either be my parents' house or Target (can't believe I'm admitting that).

22. Have you lost any friends this year?
Drifted away a bit from some, grown closer to others. Just the natural ebb and flow of life.

23. Change your hairstyle?
Ha! Um, no.

24. Have any car accidents?
Thankfully no.

25. How old did you turn this year?
32

26. Do you have a New Years resolution?
Try not to get so annoyed with poor decisions made by others, since I have no control over their actions. I can only control my reactions.

27. Do anything embarrassing?
I'm sure, but nothing in particular comes to mind.

28. Buy anything from eBay?
One of DH's Christmas gifts (a replacement Darth Maul LEGO keychain), and I think that's it.

29. Get married or divorced?
Nope.

30. Get hit on?
You're kidding, right?

31. Been snowboarding?
It's more likely that I got hit on, LOL!

32. Did you get sick this year?
Seems like I spent most of the beginning of the year sick (or hurt with my hip), but the rest has been okay.

33. Are you happy to see 2008 go?
It was a pretty good year, so I can't say that I'm chomping at the bit to see it gone, but I'm looking forward to 2009 as well.

34. Been naughty or nice?
Mostly nice.

35. What are you looking forward to most in 2009?
A whole week at Disney! I absolutely can't wait.

Currently feeling: like I had a good year

  1. Sounds like you had a good year. We are planning a week at Disney too. Was originally supposed to be about 3 days, and sort of ballooned, LOL.
