Old Friends, New Kids

Leah and I have been friends for nearly 20 years. We met at a summer music camp in either 1993 or 1994 (I can't remember if we knew each other for only 1 year or 2 before we went to Germany). She was also a bridesmaid at my wedding (L-R: Leah, me, Jacob, Connie). Good heavens, that was ages ago!

I last saw Leah in February 2007, back when she only had one child, and Luke was just over two years old. Five years is way too long to go without seeing someone, especially when she manages to go and have two more kids in that time! The irony is that she lives in the same town as my BIL and his family, and her mom lives just a few miles from me here in Atlanta, but whenever we visit the other person's territory, there just isn't time to squeeze in family obligations *and* a visit with someone else.

Thankfully, we managed this time, as Leah was kind enough to ask me to join her for lunch with her and her mom and sister on Friday. For some reason, I didn't take a single picture of the kids while we were there, but I did manage this one of the two of us. (Wish I could find that shot of us in front of the Brandenburg Gate for comparison!) I'm always amazed when I haven't seen someone in forever, and when we finally meet up, it's like no time at all has passed. That's what makes a true friend. Love ya, girl! Let's try to go something less than 5 years to the next time, okay?

Currently feeling: love seeing my friends!
