Blessed are the Animators

... for they keep mothers sane when trying to work with sick children home underfoot.

Yes, we are on day 2 of "home with fever." He's sick enough that he's not eating or playing as vigorously as usual, but not so sick that he'll just sit. Today is the worst day of the week for me to have to try and keep him entertained, since I'll spend the majority of the day on the phone (and I actually have to pay attention). I already have 3 conference calls today, and a fourth was just scheduled. (Thankfully, my 10 AM was short.) So, a 10 AM, 11 AM, a newly scheduled 12 PM, and 3 PM call today. I am so glad I no longer have to attend the 9 AM and the 1 PM, or I just might go crazy today. (My splitting headache isn't helping things any.)

If not for Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Scooby Doo, and animated movies (currently The Land Before Time, Toy Story will probably be next), I would never make it through. I hate to use the television as a babysitter, but I really don't have much choice at the moment. I'm interacting with him as much as I can between calls, but that isn't much today. Besides, he's getting more rest this way, which is definitely a good thing since he keeps waking up between 6 and 6:30 in the mornings (unusual for him). If he's fevered again tomorrow morning, I'll take him to the doctor.

Currently feeling: tired of fevers

  1. ((Erin)) It sucks when the little ones are sick. Why is it that no matter what or how much we do for them we still find a way to feel guilty about it? Sending good wishes that Luke is back to his ole self very quickly. :)

  2. Eh, one (or two of three) day of constant t.v. won't melt his brain. My daughters survived the same thing when they were sick.

I hope he's feeling better soon!
